St George’s: Halloween Dance draws a crowd

St George’s Young People’s Association held a Family Halloween Dance on October 25 from 7 to 9pm at the Petersfield Hall for area children.

Publicity was a notice posted in the Clandeboye School, and that was all it took. One hundred twenty-five young people attended, ranging in age from babies to teenagers. Music came from the CD player. Special events of the evening included spot dances and a costume parade. Toys and treats were distributed to all the youngsters.

The hall was decorated and the lights were kept low. The children held glow sticks while they danced. Adults sat on the sidelines and watched the dancing. It was a great success.
